Mr. Michael Nicely
Director of Special Education and Special Programs
Mr. Michael Nicely is the Director of Special Education. His responsibilities include many for the district: Overseeing the various special education programs and process within the district, Principal of the New Sharon School, District HIB Coordinator, and closely working with all administration and stakeholders within the school district.
Mr. Nicely is a graduate of Cherry Hill High School West in Cherry Hill, NJ. He then went on to King’s College and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. Mr. Nicely received a Masters in Educational Leadership from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
For seven years, he was a special education teacher at Monongahela Middle School. For the past five years, he was the Assistant Director of Special Education Deptford before moving into the Director’s role. Mr. Nicely’s passion is working with others and helping everyone reach their maximum potential. He is very excited to help make Deptford the best that it can be by working and communicating with all parents, teachers, students, and stakeholders. Mr. Nicely’s goal is to promote a positive learning environment in which all children can learn and be successful in their least restrictive environment.
