This morning’s bitter temperatures didn’t keep the Pine Acres Early Childhood staff from greeting students and parents with a smile at AM arrival. Thanks to some early morning assistance from the building’s Parent Teacher Association, Principal Mrs. Jones and the bus duty staff handed out hot chocolate to parents and bus drivers to help brighten their day.

“We’re a community school, and our community comes first,” said Jones. “Educating our students goes beyond the classroom, and any time we can perform acts of kindness to model a positive example – we seize that opportunity. Being accessible to our parents is so important, especially in early childhood as we partner with them to help the students succeed as they begin their formal education. We want our parents to know that we are a team.” Pine Acres Early Childhood Center houses Pre-Kindergarten, full-day Kindergarten, and first grade classes.

After arrival, Mrs. Jones came inside to travel the hallways and offer hot chocolate to the staff.

“We have such amazing, dedicated staff here, not just in the building but district-wide. I wanted to make sure our bus drivers and bus aides know that they’re appreciated and part of the Pine Acres family. Inside, we couldn’t ask for a better group of nurturing professionals tasked with educating our children. We love working with our students and we thank the PTA for their help today and every day working with the students.”
