2 Hour Delay
Senior Early Release Procedure
Dear Parents/Guardians,
There seems to be some confusion with attendance and the expectations of our students who are scheduled for approved college courses and/or the co-op program when we follow a 2-hour delayed schedule. The goal of this letter is to address student schedule conflicts on those days:
- Approved College Courses/Co-Op Schedule
- Students are required to report to the high school and attend classes for attendance purposes.
- They will be permitted to leave at 10:45 AM to attend the college course or their co-op schedule.
- They will be required to sign out in the main office before they leave.
- Students will be responsible for any assignments or assessments missed in their high school classes.
- Students should make make contact with any teacher whose class they are going to miss before they leave.
- Non-Approved College Course/Work Schedule
- Students are required to report to the high school and attend classes for attendance purposes.
- They will not be permitted to leave.
- If they leave for any non-approved course or non-approved work, they will need to be signed out in accordance with our district policy and it will count against their attendance.
- If the student does not sign out, it will be counted as a cut and consequences will be issued in accordance with our approved discipline matrix.
I understand that students’ jobs and/or college courses are important to them. However, students also need to balance their personal goals with their obligations for school to meet all of the requirements for high school graduation. Moving forward and to avoid any potential scheduling conflicts in the future, students should not schedule any college courses or their work schedule before 12:00 PM.
I appreciate your partnership in this matter.
Very Respectfully,
Jeffrey Lebb
Principal
