Welcome to Shady Lane School

Shady Lane provides a unique school campus comprised of both an early childhood center and elementary school serving the needs of a diverse student body of nearly 500 students. Originally constructed in 1957 and expanded in 1973 and again in 2003. The Shady Lane is home to student in grades 2-6.
Over the years, Shady Lane has received several modernizations and enhancements to maintain its technology-rich learning environment. Smartboards and computers are in every classroom, and computer labs are available for instructional use. In addition, the Media Center uses a computerized catalog system that allows for electronic circulation of all materials. In addition, a mobile computer lab with laptop computers is utilized throughout the building. The school is networked to provide Internet access to every classroom, office, and Media Center computer. Technology is a powerful tool in the classroom, and has paved the way for Shady Lane students to access information and programming that reaches beyond the boundaries of their classroom walls.

Chain of Command Information.

Dear Deptford Family,

One of the top goals of Deptford School District administration is to provide open and transparent lines of communication with all district stakeholders.

As there have been some changes in our district administrative positions, we would like to provide everyone with an updated Chain of Command chart.  If at any time you have a question, concern, or compliment to share, we ask that you please contact the first appropriate person within the chain.  In doing so, we can meet your needs in an efficient and professional manner.

We thank you in advance for your kind adherence to this policy and we look forward to working together to provide the best possible education for our scholars.

Sincerely,

Arthur E. Dietz
Superintendent of Schools
