2015-2016 Teacher of the Year.. Lauren Colosi
Miss. Colosi has wanted to be a teacher ever since she was a little girl. Her parents were a major influence in becoming a teacher. Watching them go to work happy and excited every morning made it easy for her to pick this profession. She also always enjoyed babysitting as a kid and working as a Sunday school teacher at her church.
Miss. Colosi grew up in Washington Township. She graduated from Cabrini College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. She also minored in Child Psychology at Cabrini College.Miss. Colosi has a very deep passion for teaching. She loves to enhance her students to be lifelong learners, but more importantly enjoy learning. When her students have a smile on their face and enjoy learning that is what teaching is all about.
This is Miss. Colosi’s sixth year teaching in Deptford Township. She taught one year at Central Early Childhood Center as an aide in an MD classroom. Later she received a job at Lake Tract teaching second grade and she is currently in fifth year teaching that grade. Furthermore, Miss Colosi has been an assistant Varsity Girls Soccer coach the past three years for Deptford Township High School. Miss Colosi considers herself very lucky to be a part of the Lake Tract staff. She enjoys working with wonderful students, exceptional colleagues, as well as a fantastic principal and vice principal.
Miss Colosi lives with her fiancé in West Deptford. She enjoys running, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. Miss Colosi is looking forward to getting married this June of 2016! Miss. Colosi has always believed the words of her two favorite Dr. Seuss quotes, “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.” Her favorite quote is “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better it’s not”

Ms. Rahn has always enjoyed being in school and learning new things since she was a young child. She found many of her teachers to be encouraging and helpful. Her wish was to be able to do the same as both a teacher and school counselor.
Ms. Rahn grow up in Monmouth County and then moved to Gloucester County. She graduated from Rowan University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education and a coordinate major in Sociology. She furthered her education at Wilmington University where she earned a Master’s Degree in School Counseling.
This is Ms. Rahn’s seventeenth year working in Deptford Township Schools. She began teaching as a basic skills instructor in both Language Arts and Math for students in grades two through six. She then taught second grade and third grade as a classroom teacher. After receiving her counseling degree, Ms. Rahn became an elementary school counselor and anti-bullying specialist.
Ms. Rahn is very happy to have the opportunity to work with such a wonderful and supportive staff and administration. She loves the fact that her job allows her to get to work with students in all grades.
Ms. Rahn loves to learn new things, travel, go for walks, and spend time with family and friends. Her favorite place to be is strolling the beach. A favorite quote of Ms. Rahn is, “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” The Lion and the Mouse, Aesop’s Fables.
