Transportation Supervisor

District

LOCATIONS:   District Transportation K-12 and Out Of District routes

HOURS:   Shall be similar to other administrative personnel except that it is understood that the Transportation Supervisor is employed for specific tasks and is expected to work beyond the regular work day in order to accomplish such task when necessary.  Such employment shall be considered part of the contract and no additional remuneration shall be provided.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education – High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Pupil Transportation Coordinator Certification preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years pupil transportation experience in the role of dispatcher,   supervisor or manager. Previous K-12 school district experience and school bus driver  experience preferred
  • Demonstrated broad working knowledge of school law, New Jersey Department of  Education regulations, New Jersey Department of Transportation regulations, and school  district operations
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize technology in the implementation of a comprehensive pupil transportation program, successful experience in routing and scheduling multi-tiered school bus operations. Experience with VersaTran transportation software preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication skills
  • NJ Commercial Driver’s License with endorsements preferred
  • Physically able to operate a 54 passenger school bus and capable of continuous standing and/or walking for continuous periods of at least 30 minutes in duration. Note: Driving a school bus is not a functional responsibility of this position other than for training and demonstration purposes
  • Demonstrated skills in personnel management, personnel supervision and evaluation of staff, route scheduling, fleet maintenance and cost containment.
  • Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

REPORTS TO:   Business Administrator

SUPERVISES: Transportation staff to include drivers, aides, secretary, and mechanics, contracted Transportation Personnel

TUTORS FOR AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) CLASS

To facilitate learning and study groups for AVID students in the AVID class

Qualifications:  Must be a current college student (undergraduate or graduate school)

Interest in tutoring and mentoring middle school students in Math, ELA, Science and/or Social Studies under the direction of their AVID Teacher

 

Location:        Monongahela Middle School Grades 7-8

 

Effective:         January 2017 – June 2018

Tuesdays & Thursdays, 7:15 a.m. – 10:05 a.m.  and/or 10:05 a.m. – 1:35 p.m.

Salary:            $15/hour, includes paid training
