Superintendent of Schools

Deptford Township Public School District, NJ, is seeking an exceptional candidate to lead this district in the pursuit of excellence in education and innovation. Deptford serves 4,400 students from grades Pre K through Grade 12 with 880 employees. We have an operating budget of $65,000,000 million dollars.

The Board is dedicated to the goal of elevating the achievement of all students.  We know it is not an easy task to develop a sustainable culture to support a high-quality environment in every classroom.  The position offers a unique opportunity for an aspiring leader who shares the Board’s vision that public schools should activate the potential of every child.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
• 3 years minimum experience as a Superintendent, Principal, and/or Central Office administrator
• New Jersey School Administrator Standard Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility
Skills and Competencies include:

  • Experience and leadership in finance
  • Ability to inspire and motivate faculty and staff
  • Proven ability to enhance student performance
  • Effective communication, leadership and people management skills, plus be visible and accessible with a strong community presence
  • Demonstrated ability in building relationships with staff and school community
