This year I began my 30th year in Deptford Township Schools. My teaching career began at Oak Valley Elementary teaching grade seven. At that time, all of the elementary schools housed grades K-7. A few years later due to the population changing in Deptford Township, all seventh grade classes were moved to the middle school and the Deptford Township High School became a grade 9-12 building. Therefore, after three wonderful years, I chose to be transferred to Monongahela Middle School so that I could continue teaching middle school age students. After 7 more years in the classroom, I began my career as Vice-Principal of MMS.
Eventually, I filled the Principal position and remained in this position for five more years. As Principal of Monongahela Middle School I changed the organizational structure of the building. A research based team model was implemented with the help of a committee of staff members. Six academic teams have flourished through the years to help set high academic and behavioral standards for all students and create a positive structured environment for students to learn.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and also a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Cabrini College. I continued my education at what was then called Glassboro State College and received a Masters of Arts in the Teaching of Mathematics. Shortly after, I returned to Rowan University and completed a Masters of Arts degree in School Administration.
As Assistant Superintendent of Deptford Township Schools I enjoy working with administrators, staff, and parents to help lead the district in a positive direction towards meeting our existing goals. I continue to enjoy taking on new challenges and expanding my horizons while continually forming new relationships in this position.
I truly believe in the vision of our district;
Educating Everyone Takes Everyone: Everyone Means Everyone
I look forward to continuing to work with everyone to help improve the education of the children.
